The interaction between a machine and a person on the industrial floor is vital to the smooth running of industrial applications. Over the years, Bosch Rexroth has designed and manufactured human machine interfaces that are reliable, effective, and durable. Rexroth’s VDP series of operator terminals are durable and designed to withstand harsh industrial environments and tough industrial applications. With a screen size ranging from 12 inches and 22 inches, Bosch’s VDP displays can be mounted in environments where space-spacing qualities are needed. Rexroth VDP series displays are available in a range of scaled sizes and allow precise operation via a capacitive touchscreen or a keyboard or both.

The Bosch Rexroth VDP40 is an operator terminal in the IndraControl VDP 40 series. The terminal has a 15-inch touchscreen display with 16 machine function keys. When used with a control cabinet PC equipped with a CDI interface, the VDP40.3DFN-D1-NN-MX forms a PC-based operator terminal. To facilitate connections, the CDI interface has an RJ45 female connector and is used to facilitate data transfer between a control cabinet PC and the VDP40.3DFN-D1-NN-MX. By using the readily available RJ45 connector, the connection between the control cabinet PC and the operator terminal eliminates the need for expensive connection devices.

To further minimize connection costs, the CDI interface includes the screen interface (XVID) and the data interface (XSER). The VDP40 reaches optimal performance when operated in environments with a surrounding temperature of between 5 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius and a non-condensing relative humidity of between 5 percent and 85 percent. The Bosch Rexroth IndraControl VDP 40 display is designed to be operated with an external power source supplying 24 Volts DC. With an overall ingress protection of IP 20, the terminal is suited to be operated in environments free from liquids.
