The module has a programmable scanning circuit that can detect state changes in any of the 32 input channels. The XVME-212 eliminates the need for the host processor to constantly poll digital I/O for signal conversion data. Once an interrupt transition occurs, the module can notify the host processor by generating a VMEbus interrupt.

The module is ideal for interfacing with button or relay contacts. It has a built-in input de-jitter circuit with eight jumper selectable de-jitter intervals, and an isolated 12 V on-chip power supply. It also provides 300 VDC optical isolation and 50 VDC reverse bias protection. It will accept an input voltage of 10-50 VDC.
